Anime Expo (July 5-8): Anime Expo, also known as “AX”, has become the largest Japanese popular culture gathering in North America, and it arrived to the Los Angeles convention center on July 5. Founded in 1992, by the non-profit organization, the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) as an annual affair to help bring attention and promote the exciting, unique culture of Japanese animation and connect die-hard fans. The four-day event is a place of pilgrimage and your transportation accommodations must be carefully planned.
Sound & Fury festival (July 13 & 14): Born in Ventura, California and finding its venues in Los Angeles, the 10th annual Sound & Fury fest opens on July 13, giving fans a two-day, high-energy dose of hard rock and punk sounds with a carefully selected line up of bands such as ABUSE OF POWER, BACKTRACK, BLAZING EYE, CITIZEN, CREATURES, DEAD HEAT, DIVISION OF MIND, DRUG CHURCH, MIL-SPEC, and OSO OSO, taking the stage at the Belasco Theater, on Friday, and BIB, CANDY, CEREMONY, COLD WORLD, DARE,DIZTORT, FREEDOM, FURY, NEGATIVE APPROACH, NOSEBLEED, TRAIL OF LIES, and WAR HUNGRY (on Saturday), and many more, becoming one of the sold out musical shows of the summer.
AltaMed Food & Wine Festival-East LA Meets Napa (July 27): Taking place at L.A. Live, East LA Meets Napa, and it is exactly that, as this year, celebrating 13 years this popular happening promises to take attendees down a 2000 year old history in the making. Come and experience food and wine from Napa Valley and beyond in the heart of Downtown L.A. The 2000 guests can visit favorite food and wine stations as Latino owners, chefs, and representatives from 40 restaurants and 40 wineries will be ready to present their best in food and wine selections. Note that this event is age restricted and you must be 21 years old, and older with a valid ID to participate.
Uncorked LA Wine Festival (July 27): This year’s Uncorked LA 90+, as in only wines rates 90 and higher brings more than 100 wines to the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica airport. Guests will enjoy live music, gourmet food trucks and snap photos inside the custom photo booth and more! The festival is for ages 21 and over – no babies and infants.
