Important Safety Information

The safety of your child is our highest priority. In accordance with California Child Passenger Safety Law, parents or legal guardians are responsible for properly installing and securing their child’s car seat.

Because every child differs in age, height, weight, and developmental stage, only the parent or guardian can determine the appropriate restraint system and ensure it is installed correctly.

While our chauffeurs are happy to provide ample time for installation and assistance where legally permitted, they cannot assume responsibility for the installation or fitment of child safety seats.

We Recommend Meet & Greet Service for Airport Pickups

If you’re arriving at the airport with young children, we highly recommend adding our Airport Meet & Greet Service to your reservation.

Your chauffeur will:

  • Meet you near baggage claim with a personalized name sign
  • Assist with luggage
  • Escort your family to the vehicle
  • Provide sufficient time for you to properly install and inspect your child’s car seat

This option is especially valuable because curbside airport pickups are subject to strict time limits, making it difficult to safely install a child seat without feeling rushed.

California Child Passenger Safety Requirements

LA VIP Car Service complies with all applicable California vehicle safety regulations.

Some of the current requirements include:

  • Children under 2 years old should ride in a rear-facing child restraint system unless they exceed 40 pounds or 40 inches in height.
  • Children under 8 years old must ride in an approved child restraint system or booster seat in the rear seat, unless they are at least 4 feet 9 inches tall.
  • Children 8 years and older must be properly secured using an appropriate seat belt or child restraint system.

Parents and guardians are responsible for selecting and correctly installing the appropriate restraint for their child.
